Getting Started

What is Plotbook?

Plotbook is a Canva app that lets you generate professional children's coloring book pages using AI. Simply describe a topic, choose your settings, and Plotbook creates ready-to-use line art that you can insert directly into your Canva design.

How do I install Plotbook?

Plotbook is available in the Canva Apps marketplace. Search for "Plotbook" in the Canva editor under Apps, then click Add to Canva. The app will appear in your left panel.

How many pages can I generate?

Each new account starts with 1 free credit. Each image generated uses 1 credit. You can purchase additional credits or subscribe to a plan from the Pricing page.

Credits & Billing

What are credits?

Credits are the currency used for image generation in Plotbook. One credit = one generated image. Credits never expire and roll over between billing periods on paid plans.

Why does my credit count show zero after a fresh install?

Credits are linked to your Canva account ID. If you just installed the app, it may take a few seconds to load your balance. Try closing and reopening the app panel. If the issue persists, contact us.

I purchased a plan but my credits haven't updated.

Credits are applied automatically after a successful payment. Please allow up to 60 seconds and then reopen the app. If your credits have still not updated after 5 minutes, please contact support with your payment confirmation email.

Can I get a refund?

Please see our Refund Policy for full details. In general, we offer refunds for unused plans within 7 days of purchase if no credits have been consumed.

Image Generation

How long does generation take?

Most images are ready within 20–60 seconds. During peak times it may take up to 2 minutes. Please keep the app open while images are generating — closing the panel will not cancel the job.

My generation seems stuck / timed out.

If a generation takes longer than 3 minutes, the job likely failed silently. Close the app panel, reopen it, and try again. Your credit will not be deducted for failed generations.

The images don't look like coloring pages.

Plotbook generates black-and-white line art optimized for KDP coloring books. If your results look shaded or filled in, try adding keywords like "simple outlines, white background, no shading" to your prompt.

Can I generate a custom cover image?

Yes. In the book setup screen, enable the Cover toggle. Plotbook will generate a full-color cover illustration using the same topic as your interior pages.

Canva Integration

How do I add generated images to my Canva design?

After generation is complete, click any image in the results grid to insert it directly onto your active Canva page. You can also drag images from the panel to any position on the canvas.

The app shows a blank white screen in Canva.

This is usually a browser cache issue. Try:

  • Refreshing the Canva editor tab (Ctrl / Cmd + R);
  • Removing and re-adding the app from the Apps panel;
  • Clearing your browser cache and reloading Canva.

Do generated images stay in my Canva media library?

Yes. Every image inserted into your design is uploaded to your personal Canva media library, so you can reuse it in future designs without regenerating.

Account

How is my account identified?

Your Plotbook account is tied to your Canva user ID — no separate login is required. Switching to a different Canva account will show a different credit balance.

How do I delete my account and data?

To request account deletion, email us at support@studioink.app with the subject line "Delete my Plotbook account". We will process your request within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
